The terminology for drilling underground laterally with a Bore Machine then pulling pipe or conduit back to the Bore Machine under ground has several names. Some call the process ,"Lateral Boring," others call it,"Precision Boring." It is most commonly known as,"Directional Drilling."
Directional Drilling can be utilized several ways. One common use of Directional Drilling is to Drill under a driveway with a Bore Machine. Once the drill comes out the far side, the desired PVC Pipe or Conduit is pulled back through to the Bore Machine. Directional Drilling allows Pipe, Sleeves, or Conduit to be installed underneath driveways, roads, parking lots, or sidewalks, with little or no damage. Parking lots, Roads, and Driveways need not be torn up to install pipes and sleeves under them.
